Well...a new year means new resolutions and new prospects for the future, but before we go onto all that...I'd like to share a little of what my family did this New Years....
What could be more fun than playing with your cousins? Well...lots of things, but this year was double the fun because we got the privledge of having our cousin as a houseguest for a couple of days. Our cousin Jeni lives in South Carolina and is a big fan of playing soccer. We usually only get to see her once a year, but this year was an exception! Us Erickson kids got a taste of what it would be like to be a part of a family with six siblings. My parents went out with my uncle and aunt who also came for a visit. They decided to go wine tasting and asked us whether we would want to come or not. Of course, wine tasting didn't sound too appetizing, so us kids decided to stay home and take over. The hours wore on and on. We made lunch for ourselves and waited... The parents finally got back after being gone about for about 5 hours. I learned that it's no easy matter to be the oldest and in charge. I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep :)
New Years Eve night we ate chinese food for dinner (an Erickson family tradition), and played games and laughed over glasses of sparkling cider. The picture below is of my cousin and my brother, sister and I playing Parcheesi.
Later that evening, we took our annual picture on the stairs with our cousin. Had some mix up with the camera, but it all turned out well in the end.
